Mrs. Thelma Louise Walker Boykin was born on July 20, 1926 in Chester, South Carolina and departed this life on Sunday, February 14, 2016 in Camden, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Sylvester Walker and the late Mrs. Annie B. Walker. She graduated from the public schools of Gastonia, North Carolina and received her Bachelors Degree from Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mrs. Boykin relocated to Camden, South Carolina and accepted employment at Boylan Haven Mather Academy as an instructor and then the school's Dietitian until her retirement. She worshipped and became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church (now Camden First United Methodist Church) and was a member of the church choir. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander H. Boykin, and her brother, Daniel F. Walker. She is survived by her step daughter, Deloris B. Blaylock and step grand children of Wilmington, Delaware; sisters, Jeanette W. Carter (James) of Greensboro, North Carolina, Maggie Thompson of Eden, North Carolina and Madelyn F. Walker of Gastonia, North Carolina, other cousins and friends.
