Ruth Ellen Ritchie-Craig was born to the late Fielden Ritchie Sr. and Ellen McCarley on September 11, 1954, in New Milford, Connecticut. She entered eternity on September 5, 2022, in Camden, South Carolina.
Ruth attended school in New Milford, Connecticut, and graduated from New Milford High School in 1973. Ruth was always well liked by her peers and was active in track and field. Ruth worked for National Semiconductor and Wentworth Laboratories. Ruth was a daughter of the Danbury Elks Lodge in Danbury, Connecticut, where she loved to dance and socialize with friends and family. Ruth relocated to Camden, SC in 1996.
Ruth attended and became a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Camden, SC where she later was baptized. Ruth loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Ruth was the primary caregiver for her mother, Ellen McCarley, until her illness rendered her unable to do so.
Ruth was preceded in death by her father Fielden Ritchie Sr., her brothers Fielden Ritchie Jr., and Kenneth Ritchie.
Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Ellen McCarley; her brothers, Gary Ritchie of Missouri and Robert Clayton of Connecticut; her sisters, Brenda Ritchie of Connecticut and Jennie Ritchie of South Carolina; her daughters, Anissa Craig of California, Jennifer Jackson of South Carolina, and Lauran Blyther of Maryland; a lifelong friend, George Vines of South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Malachi, Jaiden, Jaivon, Jurnee, Makaila, Carter, Cameron, and A’riah; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and Friends.
