Roosevelt Dixon was born March 28, 1934 in Lugoff, South Carolina to the late Katie Dixon-Haile. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Mr. Dixon was a member of Unity United Methodist Church and Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center. Mr. Dixon retired from General Motors after over 30 years of service. He enjoyed driving, and provided professional chauffeur services for 20 years to a number of prestigious officials and dignitaries after retiring from GM. During the summer months, Roosevelt would ride on his son’s big rig all over the US. In addition to traveling, Mr. Dixon love working on and restoring vintage cars and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by a son, Roosevelt Dixon, Jr.; his mother, Katie Dixon-Haile; 1st wife, Elizabeth Dixon; 3rd wife, Shirley Dixon; three sisters, Betty Rowson, Madeline Darden and Veronica Chaplain and one grandson, Andre Jones.
Those left to cherish his precious memories include: a son – Andre (Rhonda) Dixon; daughters – Nena Cheir and Velencia Lynette Dixon; three grandchildren – Kiairra Dixon, Jaylen Dixon and Charee Butler; two sisters – Azilda (Eddie) Sauls and Charlene Fleming; a loyal companion – Jeanette Adams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends who will miss his presence.
The family of the late Roosevelt Dixon acknowledges with sincere appreciation all the thoughts and many acts of kindness extended to them during this time of bereavement. We would especially like to thank Jeanette Adams, Rosalind Fleming and Morgan from Agape Care. The cards, tributes, flowers, prayers and words of love are a great source of strength and comfort.
