Richard B. Thompson, affectionately known as Ricky, was born on December 12, 1964 to Betty J. Thompson and the late Richard Thompson in New York City, New York. He entered into rest in Camden, South Carolina on August 14, 2021.
Ricky attended Benedict College following high school where he studied music. Music was his love and he could play a number of instruments and wrote his own songs. He also briefly served in the US Navy. Ricky was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church Kirkwood. He loved family and his children were the apple of his eye
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Richard Thompson; grandmother, Bertha Martin; three aunts, Blondell Jenkins, Evelyn White and Bertha Mae Martin; one uncle, Julian Martin.
Those left to cherish his memories include his mother, Bettye Thompson; brother, Kelly Thompson; sisters, Sonia Thompson and Kendra James; three children, Richard Thompson, Yasmine Thompson and Ava Thompson; grandchildren, Frank Vargas and Amelia Thompson; two aunts, Francis Martin and Virginia McClester; three nephews, James Bizzell, Tuffus Zembabewe and Kelly Thompson; two nieces, Veronica Thompson and Kellee Thompson; cousins, Tony Martin, Rodney Martin, Eric Martin, Kevin Martin, Mark Martin, Judith Wagner and Beverly Martin; brother-in-law, Tuffus Zembabewe; wonderful cousins, the entire Gray family; other relatives and friends.
