Mr. Randolph Smith entered eternal life on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Kershaw Health in Camden, South Carolina.
Born April 8, 1961, in Kershaw County, he was a son of the late Mr. Johnnie Smith and the late Bessie Reed Smith. He was a graduate of the Kershaw County public school system. As a young man and throughout his Adulthood, he served faithfully at St. Peter United Methodist Church singing and serving in whatever capacity he was asked. We all know him as “Rocky Randy”. He was unique. Some of his passions included rapping, “jiving around” as he would say, and being the life of any party or family gatherings. He enjoyed being outside working with his hands. Randolph loved his nieces and nephews and didn't mind letting others know.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Bessie Smith; four sisters, Mrs. Laura B. Adamson, Mrs. Beulah M. Dye, Ms. Margaret Smith and Mrs. Carrie E. Drakeford; three brothers, Mr. Johnnie Smith Jr., Mr. David Smith and Mr. Daniel L. Smith.
Those left to cherish his fond memories, grieve his passing, and celebrate his home-going are four sisters, Mrs. Lottie (Allen) Bethune of Patterson, New Jersey, Ms. Dorothy (Roosevelt) Townsend of Buffalo, New York, Mrs, Bessie (Malachi) Sanders of Camden, South Carolina, and Mrs. Dolores (Edward) Dixon of Rochester, New York; four brothers, Michael (Pastor Betty) Smith, Otis (Sharon) Smith, LeGrant Smith and Larry Smith, all of Camden, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. “Rocky Randy” will be sorely missed!
