Ned Allen Lyles was born on March 19, 1951, in Camden, SC. He was the son of the late Theodore Motley and the late Josephine Lyles Hills. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 29, 2022, in Lugoff, SC.
Ned received his education through the Kershaw County school district and graduated from Jackson High School in Camden, SC.
Ned was a loyal, faithful and dependable member of the James Chapel AME Church of Lugoff, SC where he held the position of Steward.
Ned enjoyed spending time with his family, play cards, fishing, watching and playing sports, walking (barefoot) and being of service to his community. Ned was an awesome man that wore a smile every day. He was a loving mate, great father and awesome grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Lyles.
Ned retired from APEX in 2013 after 36 years. After retirement, he dedicated his time working for Collins Funeral Home, J&R ABC store and servicing the community.
Ned leaves to cherish his memory, his adored darling Elizabeth Ann Starling of Lugoff, SC. His adored children; Jennifer Johnson (Lakeem and Santora) of Camden, SC, Trevais Tucker (Rayquan, Tamyah, Yahna and Mason) of Columbia, SC, Courtney Starling (Chandrea, Cameron and Kylie) of Columbia, SC, Damon (Trina) Starling (Damaya) of Rayford, NC, Kellie Starling (Kamare’, Kenneth and Kimora) of Columbia, SC, Korlyss Perry (Breon and Aubrey) of Charlotte, NC and Keyon Starling (Keyondra and Ariyanna) of Lugoff, SC. He leaves his siblings; Martha Motley of Camden, SC, Rogena Motley of Camden, SC, Cheryl Harris of Elgin, SC and Mack (Lisa) Motley of Camden, SC. Jeanette (Victor) Scott of Charlotte, NC, Samaria (Dennis) Frazier of Charlotte, NC, Willie Hills Jr., of Charlotte, NC, Preston (Tammy) Hills of Columbia, SC, Wendell (Wanda) Hills of Charlotte, NC. His beloved aunts; Della Lyles Hudson of Columbia, SC and Corrie (Charles) Clark of Mt. Vernon, New York. His beloved uncle; John (Brenda) Lyles of Mt. Vernon. Ned leaves sixteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relative, friends and the community to cherish his memory.
