Our mother, Migdalia Ocasio-Durán was born on February 14, 1936 in Ciales, Puerto Rico. She was married to our dad, Jesús Guillermo Buil for almost 65 years. Yes, they had their good days and no so good days, but they stayed together until the end, as they promised before God several years ago. They had three daughters: Luz Dalia Valentin, Margarita Badillo, and Migdalia Buil and three son-in-laws: Lester Badillo, Modesto Valentin, and Rubén Iglesias. Our mother had five grandkids: Julio Alfredo Rivera, Marles Reichard, Guillermo Modesto Valentin, Isaac Badillo, and Julio Rafael Iglesias. She had the blessing to know three great-grandkids: Lucas Maxwell Reichard, Alice Dahlia Reichard, and Aurora Joy Badillo.

One of her favorite things was spending time with her family and friends. She was a very strong women who enjoyed helping others without expecting anything in return. She has left us with a legacy that not many people are left with. A legacy of selfless love and caring for others. Mom we will miss you tremendously, but you will always be in our hearts and memories. Thank you so much for all your teaching, sacrifices, and LOVE.

Mom’s favorite hymn was “How Great Thou Art” in Spanish “Cuán Grande es Él”.

One of her favorite Bible verses,

I can do all things
through Him who
strengthens me

Philippians 4:13
