Ms. Marilyn Dunham DuBose, daughter of the late Mr. Hover Lee Dunham and the late Mrs. Rosa Lee Clark, was born January 9, 1954 in Bethune, South Carolina. She departed this life on August 10, 2017. Marilyn's early years of education was at Carver Elementary School and Bethune High School in Bethune, South Carolina and Jackson High School in Camden, South Carolina. Marilyn graduated from Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Marilyn was employed by The Kendall Company where she worked for many years until her retirement. Marilyn was a faithful member and the mother of Catoe Chapel Church of God in Christ. She recently received her license and became a Missionary. Marilyn was involved in several ministries. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer of the Mission Department, former President of the Women's Council, and served as a member of the Pastor's Aid. Kitchen Committee and Choir. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Hover Lee Dunham and the late Mrs. Rosa Lee Clark; paternal parents, Mrs. George A. and Mrs. Lucinda J. Dunham; maternal parents, Mr. Lewis and Mrs. Katie Mae Clark; two stepmothers, Mrs. Loretta Dunham and Mrs. Melvine Dunham; three brothers, Mr. George Dunham, Mrs. Robert Dunham, and Mr. Hubert Dunham; two sisters, Ms. Inez Batts Manigault and Ms. Ethel Beatrice Dunham Dixon; a brother-in-law, Mr. Peter King; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Dunham. Ms. Marilyn Dunham DuBose leaves to cherish her fond memories a son, Quintin DuBose of Bethune, SC; one grandson, Quintin Douglas of Bethune, SC; five sisters, Mary Louise King of Dallas, GA, Lorinda (Robert) Holmes of Yemassee, SC, Fulvia Dunham of Charleston, SC, Leslie Allen of Yemassee, SC, Jacquelyn Dunham, of Buford, SC, and Josie Reid (Gary) of Charleston, SC four brothers, Johnny (Ethel) Dunham of Scotland Neck, NC, Leander (Joann) Dunham of Bethune, SC, George (Earnestine) Clark of Camden, SC and Herman Fields of Atlantic City, NJ; a sister-in-law Willie Mae Dunham of Gasden, SC; special friends Willie Bell Jett, Sylvia Ponds, Rufus and Connie Hough, Patricia Ann Sweetenburg, Eva Joyce Baskins, and Sonny Grooms; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
