Maggie Bell DuBose

March 24, 1938 — May 4, 2016

Mrs. Maggie Bell Carter DuBose, also know as "Tee-Tee" was the daughter of the late Matthew (Jabo) and Elizabeth Burroughs Carter.  She was born on March 24, 1938 in Camden, South Carolina, and departed this earthly life on May 4, 2016 at her home in Camden.   Mrs. DuBose received her education in the Kershaw County School System.  She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Sweet Home Baptist Church in Camden, South Carolina. She moved to Brooklyn, NY where she joined the Greater Bibleway House of Blessing.  Mrs. DuBose moved back home to Camden, where she joined the Plain Truth Ministries under the leadership of Elder Lloyd A. Sawyer.  She worked for The Home Care Agency in New York where she retired as a medical assistant. Left to cherish her lasting memories and celebrate her homegoing: her devoted husband of 57 years, Elisha DuBose.  One sister (she raised as a daughter), Priscilla Carter of Brooklyn New York.  Two sons: Kenneth G. DuBose of Camden, South Carolina and Eric T. DuBose (Dione) of Virginia Beach, Virginia.  Seven granddaughters: Moneya, Chantel, Kammillia, Natasha, Alexis, Mercedes, and Knadia.  Four grandsons: Daniel, Kashon, Dyshon and Tyreek.  One brother, Charlie Carter (Kay) of New Haven, Connecticut. Four sisters: Bessie Lee (Melvin) Jone, Louella Evans, and Shirley Portee all of Ridgewood, New Jersey.  Josephine Carter of Camden, South Carolina.  A special nephew Corey McCoy of Brooklyn, New York.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Matthew Carter, Jr., Willie Carter, and James Carter.  Four sisters: Laura Miller, Louise Dempsey, Inez Clarkson, and Betty Joyce Carter. Special thanks to: Patricia D. Hays, and Theresa Dempsey her nieces, along with Ms. Sarah Alexander, for being special friends and caregivers. May Mrs. Maggie Bell "Tee-Tee" Carter DuBose rest eternally and live forever in our hearts.
