Juanita Osborne Edwards, daughter of the late Ben and Christine Osborne, was born on April 8, 1920 in Horatio/Hagood, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 3, 2020.
Juanita was raised and educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Rafting Creek Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board. She later moved to New York and Chicago and worked several positions at various restaurants. She returned home and in 1945 married the love of her life, Robert "Junior" Edwards and become a homemaker and mother. Juanita loved singing on the choir, gardening and loving her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters: Maggie O. Adamson, Marshall "Mike" Osborne, Sr., Ben Osborne, Jr., Coolie "Bubba" Osborne and Alice O. Parker; her husband of 60 years Robert Edwards, sons Willie Edwards and Lt. Col. (Ret.) Danny Edwards. She leaves to cherish her memory brother, Sgt. Maj. (Ret.) Teddie Osborne, daughters-in-law: Sallie Edwards (Buddy) Benson and Shirley Edwards; Grandchildren: K. Renia Edwards, Willie Ryan Edwards, Charlie R. (Rasheedah) Edwards, Stephanie Edwards and Katrina (Hakiba) Thompson; great-grandchildren: Donovan Edwards, Joyce Edwards, Tyler Edwards, Jacobi Edwards, Ryan Elizabeth Edwards, Maelia Hampton, Asha Thompson and Ahri Thompson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and extended family.
