Joseph Lee Murphy

Mr. Joseph Lee Murphy (Joe Murphy), the son of the late Mrs. Josephine Murphy was educated in Kershaw County Public Schools and graduated from Jackson High School. He was a "star" on the Jackson High School Tigers Football Team.   He attended the South Carolina Area Trade School, (Presently Denmark Tech.) in Denmark, South Carolina where he earned his Barber's Degree. Mr. Murphy was employed by the South Carolina Department of Corrections and South Carolina Electric and Gas in Columbia, South Carolina. As an entrepreneur, Joe went on to own and operate "Murphy's Barber Shop" on Reed Street in Columbia, South Carolina for over 40 years. Those left to cherish his fond memories, grieve his passing and celebrate his homegoing are: two sons, Curtis (Erika Worthy) Robinson of Bordentown, New Jersey and Anthony "Andy" Robinson of Camden, South Carolina; sisters, Willie Mae (Daniel) Daughtrey and Barbara Murphy both of Lugoff, South Carolina; two granddaughters, Ciara Robinson of Trenton, New Jersey and Shaneyia (Duonne) Brown of Columbia, South Carolina; two grandsons, Terrence Robinson of Charlotte, North Carolina and Dorian Robinson of Bordentown, New Jersey; one great grandson, Jason Robinson of Trenton, New Jersey; two great granddaughters, Diona Brown and Kailey Brown both of Columbia, South Carolina; a special friend, John Bolden; a cousin, Darryl Murphy, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
