Jessie Stanley, age 70, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024. He was born on Friday, September 4,1953, in the Bronx, New York.
Following his graduation from high school, Jessie completed his bachelor's degree and became a certified mental health specialist. Jessie had an entrepreneurial spirit. He owned and operated his own business, Jesswear, Inc. He was actively involved in various organizations including a Motorcycle Club in New York, Roller Skating Club in Pennsylvania, and was a member of St. Matthew AME Church in Orange, New Jersey.
Jessie will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
Those who will cherish his memory include his loving wife, Marleah Oruma of North Carolina; children, Shideira Stanley, Jessie Quinn Akins, Ashley Neely, and Koaboe Mincey; his brothers, Benny Stanley, Michael Hollins, Charles Hollins; sisters, Mary Janet Hollins, Lisa Hollins, and Michelle Hollins Rovira (Leron); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Phebie Ruth Stanley; father, Jessie Dan Hollins; brother, Jerry Stanley; and son, Jaye Archer.
Funeral services will be held at St. John Baptist Church in Camden, South Carolina on Monday, April 22, 2024, with viewing from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and the funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at St. John Baptist Church Cemetery Springhill in Camden, South Carolina from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM.
