Frank Henry (75) known as “New York” was born on November 19, 1948, in Hackensack, N.J. the eleventh of twelve children to Ernest and Eleanor Henry (predeceased). Frank entered into eternal rest on November 10, 2024. He attended the Hackensack public school systems. After graduation he went to Oklahoma State.
Frank was drafted to the United States Army after serving four years of service. He attended Bergen Community College. He received his BA degree. He worked for IBM in Fair oaks, N.J. Frank loved music, sports, and the good word. Frank was married to Mary “Cookie” Henry. They were married for thirteen years and friends for forty years. Out of that relationship six children were born.
He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Jodie Bland (Damon) Greene of Clifton, NJ; one grandson, Jahnief (Keesha) Bland; two great-grandsons, Jahdir Bland, and Jahsir Bland; four step great-grandchildren, Ke’Irah Muhammed, Darnell Harker, Asia Knight, and Aaliyah Knight (deceased); one step great-great grandson, Zariayon Sanders; three sisters, Florence Fields of Bethlehem, PA, Eleanor Austin of Hyde Park, MA, and Rachel Henry of Hackensack, NJ; two sisters-in-law, Betty Grace Henry of Patterson, NJ, and Gillian Henry of W. Patterson, NJ; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. Predeceased are seven brothers Oscar, Nathaniel, Vernon, Lenwood, Donald, Harry, and Ernest, one loving sister Janet.
