Emma Jean Robinson, 89, was born on November 9, 1933, in Camden, South Carolina to the late William Carter and Eliza Patterson Carter. She departed this life on December 27, 2022, at MUSC Kershaw Health Medical Center.
Emma was married to the late Isaac Robinson who was the love of her life, for 51 years. She was educated at the Kirkwood School in Kershaw County. Emma was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was very active in the church and served on the Usher Board, United Methodist Women, St. Paul Senior Citizens, Senior Choir, Pastor Parish Committee, Communion Steward and in various other positions. Emma was a lifelong member of the Universal/Reformed Universal Masonic Brotherhood and the Order of the Eastern Star Inc. where she also held several offices for 50 plus years.
In her early years, Emma was employed by Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle Jackson as a housekeeper. In this position, she cared for Ann, Nancy and Chesley. Emma also worked in the manufacturing sector. She held employment at BF Goodrich/ HBD Thermoid for 30 plus years as a machine operator.
Those left to cherish Emma’s life memories include her daughter, Dionne Lisette Robinson; Son, Kevin Dean Robinson (Mary); sister, Rebecca B. Moore (Frank); brother, Andrew James Carter; Sisters-in-law, Rebecca Robinson and Dr. Rita Robinson; four Grandchildren, Schunda Gibbs, Keonia Robinson, Kevin Dean “DJ” Robinson Jr. and Kamora Robinson; five Great-Grandchildren; nine Great-Great Grandchildren; several “adopted” children, nieces and nephews that she loved with all her heart.
