Elliott Brevard, Jr.

Elliott Brevard, Jr. was born May 31, 1938 to the late Elliott Brevard, Sr. and the late Louise Robinson Brevard in Camden, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Elliott was educated in the Camden, Kershaw County, Public School System. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1955. He attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in Camden, South Carolina. Elliott moved to Norwalk, Connecticut in 1955. In 1957, he became Manager of the Delicatessen Department for Food Fair Supermarket. In 1962, he moved to Danbury, Connecticut. In 1969, he joined the Danbury Police Department, retiring in 1993 as a Detective. He also attended Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church in Danbury. Elliott was a member of the Police Benevolent Association and Danbury Guardians. In 2001, Elliott returned to Camden, South Carolina, joined and became a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where he served on the Trustee Board, later becoming Trustee Board Chairman, member of the United Methodist Men, member at large of Church Council and member of the Senior Citizens. Elliott was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Arnella Ann Brevard Henderson and one granddaughter, Arnella Marie Brevard. Elliott leaves to cherish his fond memories are his wife of 56 years, Doris Travers Brevard; two sons, Forel Lance Brevard (Caroline) and Lionel Brevard (Althea); 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters, Daisy Caulley, Ella Williams and Hattie Poole; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.   In Appreciation
