Ellen Johnson

Ellen Johnson, 68, was born on April 3, 1954 and passed away on January 17, 2023. Ms. Johnson was born in Camden and was the daughter of the late Willie B. Johnson and Helena Drakeford
Johnson. She was one of eight siblings and a mother of two sons, Calvin Johnson and David .C Johnson.
She had been employed at Kershaw Health Hospital (now MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center) for over 25 years until retirement due to illness. Ellen continued to be a warm, responsible, and trusted caregiver of young children after retirement.
Ellen enjoyed bingo, reading, travel and dining out with her special friends ofwhich there were many due to her kindness and warm personality. She will be dearly missed by Liz Bradshaw,
Betty Hough, Cheryl Matthews, Gloria Moore, Myrtle Hubbard, Irene Reames and Karesh Williams.
In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by three brothers, Bennie Johnson, Clarence Johnson, and twin brother Allen Johnson. She is survived by four brothers, Willie James Johnson (Shirley), Johnnie Johnson (Vanessa) of Camden, David R. Johnson of Hartsville, and Herbert E. Johnson (Mandy) of Brechin Angus, Scotland and other extended family members.
The Johnson Family would like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the medical staffs of MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center, MUSC Health Florence Medical Center, Regency Hospital-Florence, and Springdale Health Care Center.
Ellen's final resting place will be at the Jamestown Road Church of God Cemetery in Bishopville, SC. Rest in peace, loving Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend.
