Edward "Cool Clyde" Murphy

June 20, 1951 — July 26, 2024

Edward James Murphy, affectionately known as “Cool Clyde”, was born June 20, 1951 in Camden, South Carolina to the late Martha and Henry Murphy. He entered into eternal rest on July 26, 2024, at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina.

Edward completed his education in Kershaw County public schools. He was united in holy matrimony to the late Carrie Murphy. During his working years, Edward was employed by the City of Columbia in the waterworks division.

Edward was a “Faithfull” member of the Reformed Universal Masonic Brotherhood and O.E.S. Daniel Lodge #1 in Elgin, South Carolina.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Murphy; his parents, Martha Murphy and Henry Murphy; two brothers, James Murphy, and Douglas Murphy.

Those left to cherish his memories are his two sons; Lenard Murphy, and Christopher Murphy; and his brother, Teddy (Josephine) Murphy.
