Mrs. Edna Marie Kirkland entered eternal rest at the Medical University of South Carolina Florence, on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Born March 6, 1955, in Fairfield County, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Daniel Willie Outten Sr. and Mrs. Madell Williams Outten.
Affectionately known as “Ree,” Edna received her education from the public schools of Kershaw County. She was formerly employed as a nursing assistant at the Kershaw County Medical Center and a cook at the Lugoff Waffle House. She was a friendly person, could have a conversation with any one and was the life of the party. Edna will be remembered for her “tell it like it is” attitude and for being an excellent cook.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her, husband Rosenwald Kirkland Jr., two sisters, Mary Jean Outten and Sarah Lenix and three brothers, Daniel Willie Outten, Jr., Mark Outten and Jimmy Outten.
Those left to cherish her fond memories, grieve her passing and celebrate her home going are her two children, Kevin, and Kenya (Tristen) Kirkland and stepdaughter, Tara Kirkland; her four grandchildren Mya, Alexis, Landon and Kayten, one sister Peggy (Keith) Cunningham, all of Lugoff, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins (special cousin Lisa Harris) and friends.
