Doris "Dolly" Brevard, 80, of Camden, SC.; transitioned Monday morning, October 12th , 2020 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC. She was born July 26, 1940, in Norwalk, CT to the late George Bernard Travers Sr., and Lelia Henrietta Wallace Travers. She married the late Elliott Brevard Jr. on June 11, 1960.
Doris is survived by two sons, Forel Lance Brevard and Lionel (Althea) Wade Brevard, Sr; sisters, Joyce Wilson and Joan Travers Bryan; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Brevard; daughter, Arnella Brevard Henderson; granddaughter, Arnella "Maria" Brevard; brothers, George B. Travers and Ronald Wilson.
Doris grew up in Norwalk with her parents and siblings where she attended Bethel AME Church. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1958. She later graduated Western Connecticut State College, Danbury, CT with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
She was employed as a branch manager of the Danbury Municipal Federal Credit Union for 30 years and upon retiring, relocated with her husband to Camden, SC.
Doris was a member of the Saint Paul United Methodist Church and served as President of Senior Citizens, handled the accounting business of the church, was a member of the church choir and drama clubs. She enjoyed designing clothes, upholstery and interior design, playing the keyboard and she loved to dance and sing.
Graveside service, Officiated by Pastor Dr. James Smith, will be 11 AM on Saturday, October 25, 2020 at Saint Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery followed by interment. Due to COVID-19, there will be no Repass.
