Deval Lamar Green was born on Tuesday, October 12, 1982 in Brooklyn, New York. Deval is the eldest of three children and the only son of Keith and Valerie Barrett. Deval was educated in the New York City public school system and was known as a "jack-of-all-trades." He mastered flooring and carpet laying, and unknown to many, Deval was also an amazing cook. Deval was a friendly and loving person who never met a stranger. He had a smile that was electric, just like his late grandmother Bennie Mae Green. Growing up, Deval always traveled, and everywhere he went he met a friend and they would come to know him as "Deval from Brooklyn." Deval was loved by many and will truly be missed by all. To his friends he was C-Money, the jokester, but no matter how annoying he could get, he always knew just how to put a smile on your face. He was a respectful son, a caring brother, a loving Unk Unk, devoted friend, but most of all, a faithful father. On December 14, 2015, Deval's life was cut short and taken away suddenly as he demonstrated how deeply he loved his family as he sacrificed his life to save their lives. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Keith and Valerie Barrett, his daughter Scarlett Rose Mae Green, fiancee Faith Carbaugh (Bishop Diehl), great-aunts and uncle Mazie McNeil, Edgar and Pamela Williams, great-great aunts, Doretha Parmora and Louise Walke, Grandparents Ederson Barrett and Barbara Pratt, two overprotective sisters Leslie Barrett and Candise Barrett, one niece (Mymi), four nephews (Bam, BB, Bugsy, and Tiger); aunts and uncles Eric and Katrina Barrett, Brenda Barrett, Sheila and Moses Jones, Felisha McNeil, Anissa Jones, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
