David Johnson

David Johnson entered into eternal life on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at his home in Camden, South Carolina after an extended illness.
David was born on March 1, 1936 in Boykin, South Carolina to James and Emma Johnson. He worked with the race horses almost 50 years before retiring. David was married to a wonderful woman, Rosetta Lloyd Johnson for over 50 years. From this union, seven children were born.
David spent most of his retired years bonding with his great grandchildren, whom he dearly loved. He also enjoyed walking around the block of his home and sitting in his yard viewing his work that he put so many years into.
David was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosa; his parents, James and Emma; four brothers, James, Willie, Cliff, and Arthur; two sons, David Jr., and Johnny Lee; and one sister, Esther‟.
Those left to cherish his memories are one sister, Maxine; five daughters, Loretta “Ginger”, Janie “Louise¸ Rosemary “Ma Ma”, and Patricia all of Camden, South Carolina, Barbara of New Castle, Delaware; two sons, Willie James and Edward “Henry” of New Castle, Delaware. Other children raised by David and his wife were Isaac „Peter” and Carrie “Kitty” of Wilmington, Delaware and Joseph (Valerie) of Camden, South Carolina; fourteen grandchildren, Tessa, Tamara (David), Tierra, Twan, Tyrell, Devon, Ashley, Vanessa, Darren, Chardai, DaNotra, Gloria, Letroi (Crystal) and Ausi; sixteen great grandchildren, Jacobe, Donovan, Zaire, Kalen, Zyla, Marcel, Tyvon, Ashton, Kmya, Leroi, Crystonnia, Lanya, Jahmeir, Landon, Jakyra and Naseem; one sister-in-law, Hattie of Charlotte, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Mack of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; three special friends that have been like family, Timothy Rogers, Trancey Johnson, and Deacon Harry “Cigar”.
