Darryl Prescott Lee was born on September 15, 1960 in the Bronx, New York to the late Edward Lee, Sr and Rose Mimns Lee. On June 11, 2024 while surrounded by family, he entered into eternal rest at MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown.
Darryl spent his youth in New York until his parents relocated back to his father’s home community of Kershaw County. He was a 1978 graduate of Camden High School. Following high school, Darryl embarked on a number of employment opportunities to include managing the record shop in Camden, managing the tuxedo shop, working security for Wateree Textiles and operating his own sign design and creation business.
Darryl enjoyed music. He played the bass guitar and loved to share his musical talents in both the community and the church. He also enjoyed DJ’ing (Disc Jockey) music and he loved photography. Darryl was artistic and enjoyed everything from music, visual arts (photography) and graphic design. Darryl served as a musician for Driven Ministries and at Greater Faith and Joy Tabernacle Church.
In addition to his parents, Darryl was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Williams, Kershaw DuBose and Dana Lee; granddaughter, Mailee Brown.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Lisa Lee of Lugoff, South Carolina; daughters, Celestine Lee of Camden, South Carolina, Sharda Bennett (Wayne) of Cassatt, South Carolina and Merrisika Brown (Robert) of Cassatt, South Carolina; grandchildren, Tramaine Bennett, Zarmain Bennett, Qadir Brown and Laikahlanii Brown all of Cassatt, South Carolina; stepdaughter, Quanisha McGriff of Columbia, South Carolina; Stepsons, Joshua Jackson, Nathaniel Jackson and Davone Jackson all of Newark, New Jersey; brothers, Edward J. Lee, Jr (Henrietta) of Camden, South Carolina, Lewis Lee (Monica) of Atlanta, Georgia, Lee Roy Lee (Gloria) of Cassatt, South Carolina and Eric Wright (Sabrina) of Blythewood, South Carolina; Sister, Carolyn Bennett of Camden, South Carolina; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
