Dannie Burroughs

MINISTER DANNIE BURROUGHS, SR., 62, entered into a peaceful rest in God’s loving arms on March 29, 2018. Dannie was blessed into the lives of his parents the late Beoler & Elijah Burroughs on November 14, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York. Having born into a family of worshippers, Dannie was baptized and received Jesus Christ as his personal savior early in life, where he also served as a Minister. Later in life, Minister Burroughs served in the U.S. Marine Corp.

Minister Burroughs had a joy for life, a passion for singing, playing his bass guitar, and purposed to make the most of every moment granted to him. Dannie was a hardworking man where he worked for Kendall Mills, New South and Ramada Inn for numerous of years until he became disabled to work. While working, Dannie begin singing with an anointed group of men, The Community Brothers of Elgin.

He leaves to cherish is precious memories: one sibling – Terry Burroughs of Brooklyn, NY; four sons – Stacey Carter of Camden, SC, Dannie (Melody) Burroughs, Jr. of Lynchburg, SC, Shawn Burroughs of Camden, SC and Elijah (Margaretta Gripper) Burroughs of Elgin, SC; three daughters – Sharon Burroughs of Camden, SC, Melissa (Isaac) Gary of Camden, SC and Nina (Jeffrey) Champion of Cassatt, SC; thirteen grandchildren – Isaac Jr. and Gavin Gary, Ja’Lin Gripper, Kh’aliyah and Javont Champion, Shawn Jr., Nathan, Kierra, Eric, Steven, and Malcolm Burroughs, Melody Carter and Teonna Hall; Dannie’s soul mate of 26 years – Ruby Salmond who will miss him dearly; Ruby’s three children that Dannie helped raise – Brenda (Teddy) Hickman of Camden, SC, Jennifer Salmond of Camden, SC and Shawanda Salmond of Camden, SC; one special grandson that Dannie raised until the age of eighteen, Jaiy’lin (Dalias Dubose) Mials. Ruby’s seven grandchildren that Dannie spoiled – Defiggieo and Reginald Whitaker, Shakeria Salmond, Sonyada Adams, Tyrique and Shabreonna Stuckey and a host of other relatives and friends.
