Daisy B. Gripper transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, surrounded by loved ones after a short illness at her home in Brooklyn, NY.
Daisy was born on July 28, 1937, to the late Roosevelt and Vernell Murphy in Ridgeway, SC. After graduation from Jackson High School in Camden, SC; Daisy moved to New York City. There, she married and gave birth to four daughters; Sharon Gripper, Shanta Gripper, Sheila Gripper, and Sherece Gripper. Being a homemaker, caregiver, and all-around “mother” to many were her greatest accomplishments and gave her much joy. Later in life, Daisy developed a passion for travel, especially cruising. Annually, she sailed enjoying ocean views, sea breezes, and Caribbean beaches.
Along with Daisy’s daughters, she leaves to mourn her son in law Celestin Stanislas, her sisters, Minnie Bland and Blondell Murphy, both of Danbury, CT; her grandsons, Sean Gripper and Bryler Paige of Brooklyn, NY; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Daisy also held a special place in her heart for her niece, Vanessa Jeter, and her grandpup, Odie.
Family and friends are invited to say a final goodbye at Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ridgeway, SC.
