Bernie Grant

Mr. Bernie Grant, 72, of Lugoff, South Carolina entered into rest on March 23rd, 2020. The family will hold a private funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Grant. Public viewing will be held at Collins Funeral Home on Friday, March 27, 202 from 2 PM until 6 PM. Guest are encouraged to pay their respects during these hours.

Bernie (Teddy) Grant, the son of Janet Grant and the late Marion Grant was born on May 31, 1947. Monday, March 23, 2020 Teddy departed this earthly life at Prisma Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC.

Teddy, as he was affectionately called, graduated from Ebenezer High School, Sumter County, SC. He retired from E.I. DuPont after 25 plus years of service. He gave his life to the Lord and joined Rafting Creek Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, and was enthusiastic to spending time with his family and friends. Daily, he would "court" TV shows, read the newspaper and listen to the news.

Teddy, was married to the late Bertha Grant, from this union they were blessed with three children. He was a devoted father, who was infectious with spreading love to anyone who encountered him.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children; Myreon Grant (wife Shanta Johnson) of Columbia, SC, Melinda Grant (husband David Davis) of Lugoff, SC, Shavone Grant (husband Chris Grant) of Lugoff, SC: eight grandchildren; Jason Grant, Myra Grant, Justin Bradshaw, DreShawn Bell, Jalen Burbage, Mya Grant, Bralyn Davis and Kendall Davis: Siblings; Lizzie White (husband Wallace White) of Augusta GA., Annette (Johnnie) Dinkins of Rembert, SC, Marion Grant of Hyattsville, MD and Daniel Grant, of Sumter, SC. Aunts: Bernice Hill, Rev. Lillian S. Reynold, Ophelia Spencer, and Cornelia (James) Collier all of Sumter, SC., And a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
