Alexander Chivers Johnson

December 13, 2000 — February 14, 2023

Alexander Chivers Johnson, the son of the late Larry E. Johnson and Pamela Chivers Boykin and bonus son of Bryant “Keith” Boykin was born on December 13, 2000 at Baptist Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

At an early age he was dedicated to God and was later baptized at Camden First United Methodist Church by Reverend Ellis White. Alexander attended Grace Life Church where he was active in the Youth Department and formed lasting friendships.

AC, as he was affectionately called by his mother, attended Lugoff-Elgin High School and graduated from Daniels Christian School in Columbia, South Carolina. Throughout his youth Alexander was involved in various extra-curricular activities such as basketball, soccer, karate, drum lessons and Boys Scouts.
In his free time Alexander enjoyed playing basketball, gaming, cars and creating music.

He also enjoyed fishing, attending sporting events, traveling and spending quality time with his favorite Uncle DeWayne. Alexander was a loving family member and friend who was conscientious of the feelings of others and their needs. He was known to call loved ones to “check on you” or “make sure you’re good.” The journey to maturity is one that occurs at various points in everyone's life. AC had his moments of being human throughout his journey. All of us who loved and supported him understood that he would have to find his way in his time. While we all hoped that we would be able to witness his full transformation his Heavenly Father thought best to bring him home.

Alexander was preceded in death by his father, Larry E. Johnson; grandparents, William D. Chivers, Rufus and Dorothy Johnson; and uncle, DeWayne Chivers.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother Pamela Boykin, bonus father, Keith Boykin; grandmother Annie Pearl Chivers; sister, Erika Johnson Lotts; bonus sister Adrionna Boykin; niece, Kira; three uncles William “Bill” Chivers (Taunya), Arnold “Butch” Johnson, and Gene Hall, Sr.; aunts, DeLisa Johnson, Beverly Battle and Wanda Middleton; cousins Brian (Andrea) Chivers, Bianca (Darryall) White, Kiara Parker and a host of relatives and friends.
