Juanita Thompson

May 7, 1936 — October 16, 2020

Ms. Juanita "Sister" Thompson, daughter of the late Warlow Thompson and late Mary Lee Moore Harris was born May 7, 1936 in Kershaw, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on October 16th, 2020 at her residence in Camden, South Carolina.

During her working years, Ms. Thompson worked as a cook for the Lancaster County public school district. "Sister" joined Second Calvary Baptist Church at an early age. She met and married Leonard Mickle and to this union, four children were born: Johnny, Beulah, Stephanie and Levon. Life's path changed over time and Ms. Thompson moved to Camden, South Carolina where she became a member of God's Deliverance Center under Dr. Margaret Lopez where she was the mother of the church.

"Sister" enjoyed shopping. She loved looking for a new purse, outfit and a pair of heels. She also enjoyed cooking and feeding the community. Ms. Thompson enjoyed helping others and serving in her local church. "Sister" had a love for planting flowers and for designing flower pieces.

Those left to cherish Ms. Thompson's memory and smile include her daughters, Beulah Mickle of the home, Camden, South Carolina and Stephanie (Tyrone) Shorter of East Windsor, New Jersey; son, Levon Mickle of Camden, South Carolina; four brothers, Robert (Shirley) Thompson of Baltimore, Maryland, Woodrow Thompson and Raymond Thompson of East Orange, New Jersey and Ernest (Laura) Witherspoon of Camden, South Carolina; two sisters, Cora (Willie) Burnett and Barbara Thompson both of Buffalo, New York; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

We'll always remember that smile, that caring heart, that warm embrace that you always gave us; you being there for us through the good and the bad times no matter what. We'll always remember you because there will never be another one to replace you in our hearts and the love we will always have for you!

The family would like to share a special thank you to God's Deliverance Center, MSA Hospice, Grace and Mercy Home Health, C. Clarkson, Vermile Green, Ann Richardson, Margaret Izzard and Dent Adult Daycare in Columbia, SOuth Carolina for your love and care for Ms. Thompson.
