Diane Wood entered into eternal rest at her home in Elgin, SC. She was born on August 24, 1953 to the late Frank and Irene Wood in Kershaw County.
She was educated in the Kershaw County Public Schools. After graduation she was employed by Midlands Center as a Mental Health Specialist, Supervisor for 28 years.
Diane was a dedicated member of Fort Clark Baptist where she served in the Women’s Ministry, Pastor’s Aide, Food Pantry, Usher’s Ministry, Kitchen Staff, and the Summer Program. She was known best for saying “sit down somewhere” to the children. She enjoyed helping others and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roscoe Wood and Ronnie Wood; sister Nancy Brunson; and nephew Juan Wood.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Keith Wood of Savannah, Georgia and Shamico (Michael) Harris of Lugoff, SC; four grandchildren, Ashayla, Jasmyn, Shyanne, and Mikayla; siblings, Frank Wood Jr and Eloise Wood of Elgin, SC, Stanley(Lousie) Wood of Lugoff, SC, Priscilla(Venicent) Blair of Hanover, MD; one sister-in-law Linda Wood of Columbia, SC; one Aunt, Richardine Wood of Capital Heights, MD; a host of nieces and nephews because she was known as Auntie Diane to far more; a very special friend, Dale Gibson of Ridgeway, SC
